Joe Martin is a fitness professional who is certified as an Adventure Boot Camp instructor, personal fitness trainer, sports nutritionist, and health coach. He also holds a B.S. in Health Promotion with a Minor in Business from Auburn University. Since graduating, he has worked as a recreation specialist for the U.S. Army, as a personal trainer at Huntsville Hospital, and a private trainer in clients' homes. Currently he is the owner and operator of Joe Martin Fitness LLC, a fitness company that specializes in fitness boot camps, youth fitness, and on-line personal training. Joe was voted Huntsville's Healthiest Male, Huntsville's Healthiest Trainer, and Huntsville Adventure Boot Camp was voted Huntsville's Healthiest Place to Workout. As a writer, he has written the best selling book The Wellness Code,  The 21 Day Tight and Toned Transformation, the Army MWR Sports and Fitness Newsletter, and is a frequent contributor to the Huntsville Times as a fitness writer. 

Joe had been a lifelong athlete, until one day he woke up and realized he was 50 pounds overweight, depressed, and injured. It was a turning point in his life when he got fed up and realized there had to be a better way.  From that day on he has dedicated his life to studying health and fitness and using it to help others achieve their goals.  He has used this passion to train everyone from high school athletes trying to get scholarships, to women who want to feel better about their bodies after childbirth.

He also has a passion for helping kids. He has coached football at Challenger Middle School, taught youth weight training classes since 2002, and led a youth group at Latham United Methodist Church. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his wife and young son, exercising, and playing sports.

Keisha Nelson is a Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Group Fitness Instructor and Certified Les Mills Instructor. Keisha received her B.A. in Telecommunications with a minor in English at Alabama A&M University.  She is an exciting, energetic, and dynamic instructor who leads the Madison location of Adventure Boot Camp. Besides being a dedicated fitness professional, she is also a wife and mother. 


 

Like most young girls who enter college, Keisha gained her Freshman 15 along with an additional 62 lbs. Poor eating habits, lack of exercise and a sedentary lifestyle were the culprit. In 2003, Keisha stepped on the scale and topped out at 250 lbs. At that moment, she decided to do something about, and with the support of her husband, strength and core training, interval training cardio, and hardcore fitness classes Keisha lost 100 lbs within 18 months.


While getting into the best shape of her life, Keisha discovered she had a passion for fitness and wanted to help others get healthy and fit. She received her first fitness certification in 2004 and has continued to further her fitness career over the past 9 years. Keisha holds certifications in Body Attack, Body Combat, Body Pump, Maddog Spinning, Personal Training, PiYo, and Turbokick.


 

Throughout Keisha’s 9 year journey in the fitness industry, she has been blessed with the opportunity to personal train and instruct classes at various well known fitness facilities in Madison, Huntsville and at Redstone Arsenal. She enjoys her role as a Fitness Professional and looks forward to changing lives everyday.

John was recently nominated for induction to the Fitness Hall of Fame.

John holds bachelors degrees in business and health science, an MBA, and a doctorate in education. He also completed doctoral level studies in naturopathy. He has fifteen certifications including massage therapy, plyometrics, self-defense, fitness kick boxing, fitness boxing, water fitness, exercise rehabilitation, golf conditioning, Pilates, personal training, clinical hypnotherapy, sports hypnosis, PACE circuit training and yoga. He holds a 2nd degree black belt in kung-fu, has completed the Ironman triathlon, and finished 5th at the U.S. National Biathlon Championships. His medical training includes a license in radiological technology, a medical assisting certification, and training in McKenzie rehabilitation. John was nominated for the California Community College Distinguished Alumni Award.
